The Oaks Golf Club

Location: Pass Christian, MS (Gulf Coast)
Scope: Full Course Bunker Renovation

In 2020, The Oaks called on Watermark Golf / Nathan Crace Design to oversee a full course bunker renovation.  The course originally opened in the late 1990s and has hosted Web.com Tour events, but the bunkers had not been renovated since the course first opened for play.

A plan was put together to soften the bunker faces (the faces had become vertical and concave in some cases), open views of the sand, repalce drainage, and sod the faces down to the sand in teh semi-flat bottoms.  Additionally, Better Billy Bunker was used to improve drainage.  Working closely with Forefront Golf Construction, Nathan and the crew started the project in August of 2020 and wrapped up in September.
